Privacy policy
This policy explains what we collect when you use mrupreceptor.com, why we collect it, who it goes to and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers the forms, the chat, the WhatsApp and text buttons, the email sign-up and the tools that run on every page.

Tell us your MRU program and where you live. A placement advisor replies with what an MRU-ready preceptor and site look like for you.
Who we are
MRU Preceptor is an independent clinical-placement service for Miami Regional University nursing students. We are not part of MRU. We do not pass the information you send us to MRU; if you want MRU to have it, you share it with MRU yourself.
What we collect
- Lead details from forms and chat: your name, email address, phone number, MRU program, location (such as city and state), when your clinical course starts, and anything else you choose to tell us.
- Messages: what you write in the message box, in the chat, and in WhatsApp or text conversations you start with us.
- Email sign-up: the email address you enter in the tips sign-up in the footer.
- Visitor information: pages visited, browser and device details, and identifiers stored in cookies or local storage, including those used by the visitor-identification tool described below.
Please do not send background check results, health records, immunization documents or identification numbers through the forms or chat. We do not need them to search for a preceptor, and MRU's clearance runs through its own vendor.
Where form and chat details go
Everything you send through a form or the chat goes to our placement desk's lead system. Placement advisors use it to read your request, reply to you, keep notes on your search and follow up. The service providers that host the lead system, the chat and our email handle your details only to run those services for us.
Visitor identification (Retention)
Every page of this site runs Retention, a visitor-identification tool. It may recognize a returning visitor and match that visit to an email address, which can happen even if you have not filled in a form. We use it to follow up with people who have shown interest in placement help.
If you do not want this, you can block cookies and local storage for this site in your browser, or ask us to delete your details and stop contacting you, as described below.
Email tips
If you join the clinical-placement tips list in the footer, we use your email address to send those tips. You can unsubscribe at any time, and signing up is separate from asking for placement help.
WhatsApp and text messages
The WhatsApp and text buttons are there only for visitors who choose them. When you message us that way, the conversation passes through WhatsApp or your mobile carrier, whose own privacy terms apply, and we keep it so we can answer you and follow up on your request.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and your browser's local storage to keep the chat open as you move between pages, remember choices such as a closed pop-up or a form you started, and run the visitor-identification tool. You can clear or block them in your browser settings, although parts of the chat and forms may then stop working as expected.
How we use your information

- To search for a preceptor and clinical site that fit your MRU course
- To share with a prospective preceptor or site only what they need to consider taking you: your program, the course and its dates, and the general area where you want to train; anything more only with your agreement
- To send clinical-placement tips if you signed up for them
- To follow up on a request you made or interest you showed on the site
- To keep records of our work and meet legal obligations
We do not sell your data
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We share it only with the service providers that run our lead system, chat, messaging and email for us, with prospective preceptors or sites as described above, and where the law requires us to.
Replies by email, call or text
When you send a form, start a chat or message us, you agree that we may reply by email, phone call or text message using the details you gave us, including about the request you made. Your carrier's message and data rates may apply. To end texts, reply STOP to any of them, and tell us through the chat or the contact form if you do not want calls or emails.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your details for as long as we need them to help you and to keep a record of our work. You can ask us at any time to delete what you sent: use the contact form or the chat and say you want your details deleted. We will remove them from our lead system and stop contacting you, except for anything the law requires us to keep.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us and limit access to the people and providers who need it. No website or system is perfectly secure, which is one more reason to keep clearance documents and health records out of forms and chat.
Who this site is for
This site is meant for adult nursing students, applicants and clinicians. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes and questions
If we change this policy, we update the date on this page. Questions about privacy, or requests about your information, can be sent through the contact page or the chat.
