What to put in your message
A few details let us start the right search on the first reply instead of the third.
- Your program as MRU names it, for example MSN-FNP or PMHNP Post-Master's Certificate
- The clinical course you need a preceptor for, such as
MSN5700orMSN6065C, and its first day - Your city, county and state, and how far you can travel for clinicals
- Days and shifts you can and cannot do around work
- Preceptors or sites you have contacted so far, and their answers
- Sites you cannot use, such as a unit where you are employed; some health systems do not let employees rotate in their own facility or department
- Where you stand on clearance: American Data Bank, immunizations and liability insurance

If you are a preceptor
Preceptors are welcome here too: if an MRU student has asked you to precept, or you would like students whose courses suit your practice to reach you, pick the preceptor option in the form and add your specialty and the state that licenses you. Questions MRU students ask
How soon will I hear back?
A placement advisor replies by the method you choose. If your clinical course starts within the next few weeks, put that and the course's first day in the first line of your message, so the advisor sees the timing straight away. The chat is there as well if you want to ask a quick question first.
Can I ask a question without starting a search?
Yes. Use the chat or the message box to ask about MRU's clinical rules, a particular course or how our help works. If the answer depends on an MRU decision, we point you straight to the MRU office that decides it.
Can I get in touch before I enroll at MRU?
Yes. If you are applying to an MRU nurse practitioner program and want to understand the own-preceptor rule before you start, send your questions through the chat or the form. Questions about admission itself, including whether you can enroll from the state where you live, belong with MRU Admissions.
Do you share my details with preceptors?
Only the basics a prospective preceptor needs to decide whether to take you on, such as your program, which course it is, when it runs and roughly where you live. Anything beyond that is shared only with your agreement. The privacy policy sets out the rest, including how to ask us to delete your details.
How do I stop messages from you?
Reply STOP to any text from us, unsubscribe from the tips emails, or say so in the chat or the message box. We then stop contacting you by that route. You can also ask us to delete the details you sent through the same contact form or the chat.
